Figure out the cause and then work on a solution. Take time for yourself: Take a walk. Enroll in a yoga class. Its a great way to learn breathing and relaxing tips. Give yourself a facial Get a massage. Get a pedicure. Take a dance class. Enroll in any stress relieving exercise class. Take time away from planning. While the wedding is the focus of your life, its not the focus of your friend's lives. Spend an afternoon with your girlfriends at lunch or shopping. Spend quality time with your fiancé. Declare a moratorium on planning talk. Maybe you can take a relaxing weekend getaway, maybe spend a quiet evening home watching movies and eating pizza. NO WEDDING TALK! Keep in mind that the wedding is just a party. The marriage is the priority. Spend time on the relationship and less on the party aspects. If there is a small mistake, no one will notice. Its normal to have wedding disaster dreams. The most common is walking down the aisle naked. (Honest!). Its just a dream, its not reality, it won't happen. Don't waste your energy worrying about details that don't matter. Do you really need assigned seating? If Sue and Beth don't get along, they'll sit apart on their own. Why spend days and precious time agonizing on seating arrangements? In the big scheme of the party, it doesn't matter! Reserve tables for immediate family members and be done with it. Everyone else can pick a seat and live with it. Don't put unrealistic expectations on yourself. No one is superwoman. Don't stress out trying to diet to fit into a smaller size of a bridal dress. Buy the most flattering bridal dress to your figure in the size that fits and have your bridal dress altered to fit closer to the big day. Keep a sense of humor and keep things in perspective. You start by getting organized. You need to formulate a plan, work up a budget and set the date, place and
time. Take each item one step at a time and allow yourself enough time to accomplish each item.
Planning a wedding takes time. Dresses should be ordered a minimum of 6 months in advance.
Wedding venues, photographers, DJ's , cake bakeries, caterers etc need to be booked as far in advance
as possible because some vendors are so popular that they book up one to two years in advance.
Interview potential vendors, choose your vendors, sign the contracts and keep accurate records.
Tackle each task one at a time and follow up with your vendors. Follow our instructions, and you'll have
accurate information and easy to follow instructions. A lot of wedding planning is making up your mind.
Its up to you, the bride, to make decisions in a timely manner. The longer you procrastinate, the more
problems you bring onto yourself.
Think of your wedding as the most important party you'll throw in your life.
